While Saul, the Pharisee, was on his way to Damascus he was knocked to the ground, most likely from his horse, and he heard the voice of Christ saying: “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” He temporarily lost his sight as he lay on the ground, awestruck. After Paul’s miraculous healing and conversion to Christianity, he was ordained as an apostle and spent the rest of his life sharing the Gospel.
